The ASBK Management Team has announced that the mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship, presented by Motul, will return to Queensland’s Morgan Park Raceway in 2021.
The ASBK Management Team can confirm Round 5, August 20-22, will see all five categories of the ASBK Championship in action at the home of Queensland motorcycle racing – Morgan Park in Warwick.
Earlier this week the ASBK Management Team confirmed ASBK Round 2 will be held on March 12-14, at Northern Victoria’s spectacular Winton Motor Raceway, and Round 3 will be held April 16-18, at Wakefield Park Raceway, Goulburn, NSW. Now Morgan Park becomes another key announcement to the 2021 ASBK Calendar.
“We know Queenslanders can’t wait for ASBK racing action to return to Morgan Park after a disrupted 2020 year, and we look forward to the scintillating ASBK action getting underway on August 20-22, 2021,” said Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle.
“Morgan Park has provided spectacular racing in the past and is a unique and very popular venue for ASBK fans, it is sure to do so again in 2021.
“We look forward to welcoming crowds back to Morgan Park in 2021 to watch the spectacular ASBK action but will obviously be guided by relevant State Government regulations at the time.”
Morgan Park Raceway is the home circuit for some of ASBK’s fastest riders and teams, so the home ground advantage of the Warwick venue has always produced great racing and a few surprise results over the years.
The Official ASBK Pre-Season Test set for late January will kick of ASBK activities in 2021 and will host all ASBK classes giving the riders their first chance to hit the track for a blockbuster 2021 ASBK Championship.
However, ASBK race fans have plenty of race action still to come and they can catch all the drama and action from the 2020 ASBK Grand Finale at Wakefield Park Raceway, December 3-6, live via ASBK TV partners SBSHD, Fox Sports Australia and Fox Sports Asia on both Saturday and Sunday.
